I have lived in places where the water tasted so gross, there is no way I would have drank it, and most days didn’t want to cook with it.  Don’t get me wrong, the water was “safe”, it just tasted awful!   When we lived in California, it was the absolute WORST!   I live in Tennessee now, and it tastes better, but the water is so hard.   It dries out my skin really bad and it makes a difference with your cooking/baking with it.
