National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day

Did y’all know that today is National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day??

I didn’t even know such a day existed until recently.   

My granddaughter is a Peanut Butter fanatic, so I figured it would be fun to share with you some funny and real facts about Peanut Butter today.  

  • Peanut butter was the controlling secret behind “Mr. Ed,” TV’s talking horse.
  • Americans spend almost $800 million a year on peanut butter.
  • It takes about 540 peanuts to make a 12-ounce jar of peanut butter.
  • Peanut butter was first sold in the United States at the Universal Exposition in St. Louis by C.H. Sumner.  He sold $705.11 of the “new treat” at his concession stand.

Today would be a great day to find some new Peanut Butter Recipes and try them out!   What better way to celebrate National Peanut Butter Lovers Day!!
